

Born in Jersey City and raised in Bloomfield, NJ, Ellen started life as a Yankees fan. After 20 years in Alexandria, VA she found her true calling as a Washington Nationals super fan! Ellen enjoyed attending games with her baseball ladies: Pat Davis, Marilyn Shortle, and Jane Borden. She was a Nationals season ticket holder and an avid bobblehead collector.
Ellen worked for the Department of Defense since 1989 and recently retired. After she retired, she filled her life with what she loves: world travel, gardening, baking, and baseball. She enjoyed volunteering at the United States Botanical Garden and attended master gardener classes.
Ellen had a love for learning. In addition to her master gardener classes she studied Chinese herbology, Classical Chinese Medicine, and stone medicine with her practitioner and friend Jeffery Yuen. Jeffery helped Ellen navigate her long journey with cancer.
Ellen was predeceased by her parents William and Clare Morris, her brothers Bill and Michael Morris, and sister Clare St. Romain.
She’s survived by her brother Robert J. Morris and wife Sandi Morris of Browns Mills, NJ. In addition, she leaves behind her nieces and nephews Mary Kate Lord and husband Sandy and their son Will of Sugar Land, TX; Eileen Vieites and husband Joe of Miami; Rob Morris and wife Stacey of Mt. Holly, NJ; Chrissy Morris and husband Ben Treder and their son Xavier of New York, NY; and Scott Morris and fiancé Yvonne Robertson. Also, cousins Mary Elizabeth and John and Susan Coyle and the much loved Brody cousins: Dr. Celeste Brody and John Holmberg, John Paul Brody, Jr., Kathy and Tom Kingston, Tom and Patti Brody, Mary Pat and Tom Boak, Eileen Brody, Peggy Ann and David Ecklund, Stephen Brody, Dr. Michelle Brody and Greg Stump, Erin and Michael Wright. As well as her D.C. family Joe McDonald and Darrel Fettig.
Services will be Saturday July 24, from 2-5 pm at Demaine Funeral Home at 520 S. Washington Street in Alexandria, VA.
