Esther Mata Orr

Esther was born on January 23, 1928, in Austin, TX, to Eulogio and Juliana Mata. She was the cherished wife and dance partner of Wayne for over 63 years; the loving mother of Terry, Delia, Adam, Gene, and Kim; and the matriarch of nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and ten great-great-grandchildren. As strong as she was beautiful, our Esther could be fiery and outspoken, but she had the softest heart you'll ever find.

A visitation is scheduled for Friday, March 3rd from 6PM to 8PM at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria VA. The funeral is scheduled for Saturday, March 4th at 11AM at Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria, VA, with a reception to follow at Wayne and Esther’s home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Esther's life.
