

MILLER FRANK PROCHASKA MILLER Passed away at home on Saturday, October 26, 2013. He was 83. He leaves behind his wife, Muriel; his four children, Diane, Raymond, Daniel and Debbie; his three step-children, Boris, Walter and Catherine; his grandchildren; and many cherished friends. He was born to Frank Seely Miller and Inez Mildred Miller on April 2, 1930, in Washington, DC. Frank grew up near the Potomac River in Mt. Vernon, Alexandria, VA, with his brother, Harry and predeceased sister, Anne. Frank entered the Navy in 1950 and served for ten years, achieving the rate of Aviation Electrician Mate 1st Class. Afterward, Frank earned a BS in Business Administration in 1967 from Jacksonville University, Florida and a Juris Doctor in 1972 from Washington College of Law in Washington, DC. Entering the DC bar in 1972, he accepted the position of Assistant Corporation Counsel in the Law Enforcement Division of the Superior Court of DC and then of Senior Counsel, Acting Assistant. Frank was also an Adjunct Professor at Washington Technical Institute, teaching doctoral level courses in criminology, criminal justice; police history, and public law. In retirement, Frank ran a successful home improvement business in Alexandria, Virginia. He and Muriel later moved their home to Solomons, Maryland. Family and friends are invited to the service at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 7, 2013, at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street, Alexandria, Virginia, 22314. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery. Frank had a deep respect and love for animals. In lieu of flowers and in his memory, his family is asking that a donation be given to the North Shore Animal League.
