On October 10, 2012; GEORGE H. STRAUSS; beloved husband for 52 years of Hilda Strauss passed away in his sleep. George was born July 20, 1924 in Vienna, Austria, immigrated to the U.S. arriving in New York in 1939. He had four years of gymnasium in Vienna; he continued his studies in New York City and received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Economics at CCNY and Columbia University. He served in the Army from 1949 to 1968; retiring as a Lt. Colonel. From 1968 to 1986 he worked with OMB at the executive level.
He is survived by his wife Hilda and sister Gerda. He will be missed and remembered by his friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington Street Alexandria, VA on October 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday, December 3rd at 11:00am.
