Harold “Hal” Allen of Alexandria, VA died September 14, 2022. Hal, the middle of three sons of Josephine (Huck) and William Allen, was born in Michigan on October 1942. He received both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Detroit and a Ph.D. from the Michigan State University. He spent most of his career working for the Department of Defense, retiring from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency in early 2014. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Jean; daughter Laura, son Mark (Robyn); grandchildren Thomas, Ainsley, Jack and Joey; brother Jim; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated ON Thursday, September 22nd at 10:30 AM at the Basilica of Saint Mary in the city of Alexandria.
