James Earl Driscoll, Jr., a resident of Alexandria, Va. since 1965, died on October 3rd , 2018. Jim was born in Roanoke Virginia on July 15th , 1923. He joined the Army Air corps in 1942 and became a fighter pilot. After the war, Jim entered Marshall University in Huntington, WV. There he met and married Lou Ann Canterbury, his loving wife of 58 years prior to her death in 2005. Jim was recalled to active duty during the Korean Conflict and remained on active duty. Having served in WWII, Korea and Vietnam, with final duty assignments at the Pentagon and Andrews AFB. Jim retired from the Air Force and settled in Alexandria, VA. in 1972. As a post Air Force career Jim owned and managed several businesses before finally retiring in 1988. He is survived by his five daughters, Jennifer Coffey, Jamie Morningstar, Susan Driscoll Blount, Angela Irelan and Martha Allman, seven grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Hwy, Alexandria, VA on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 10:00 am followed by Interment at Arlington National Cemetery on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at 1:00 pm.
