The brilliant, beautiful Jane is on a new journey. She is the epitome of what a human being should be. With her dedicated loving husband Christopher, they are exemplary of all things good in humanity. Devotion, faith, excellence in all things they touched we can only hope to approach their model lives. It is a privilege to have known Jane so well in different settings and be overwhelmed by her vast knowledge, insight and charity. God rest her exquisite soul and give comfort to her devoted family. A woman of brilliance, extreme hard work, never complaining, never self pity---only focused on family, faith, friends, and learning and giving.

I offer my condolences to Jane’s family. Although a staff member at LC, I mainly knew Jane from library association meetings – talkative chance meetings at ALA, and while serving on the IFLA Reference and Information Services Standing Committee. Jane will surely be missed by friends and colleagues.

Christopher,

While I never met Jane, I knew she was special just by the way you spoke of her so glowingly. May you get support from those who know you during this difficult time. I’m only a phone call away.

My condolences to the family of Jane Sanchez. I met her when she first joined the Library of Congress and was immediately moved by her warmth, her caring for the new division she was heading, her plans to renovate and update their offices, and her efficiency in carrying out her plans. We had lunch together, and chatted about our travels and families. I was not surprised when she became the Law Librarian, and rose to an even higher position, even though I knew she had been ill. She was one of the most dedicated people I ever met. My heart is full of sadness as must be the hearts of all those who knew and loved her. Mary-Jane Deeb, Ret.Chief of LC's African and Middle Eastern Division
