Jane Blitch Schrage, of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away on October 16th surrounded by her family. Jane was born in Glennville, GA to Brantley and Nellie Everett Blitch. She graduated in 1953 with a BS in Education from Georgia Southern. In addition to her husband Gerhardt “Sam,” she is survived by her two children, Susanne Schrage-Norton (Dean) and Mark Schrage (Tucker), and 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Demaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, on Friday October 25th from 5 to 8 pm. A memorial service will be held at Aldersgate United Methodist Church (UMC) in Alexandria at 10am on Saturday, October 26th. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Aldersgate UMC 1301 Collingwood Rd, Alexandria, VA 22308, designated for the Scholarship Fund in her memory. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
