On Monday, August 20, 2012, in Alexandria, VA, at 79 years of age. The son of the late John B. and Dorothy [Brady] Fletcher, and the husband of the late Noel Claudel [Bartlett] Fletcher. He is survived by his son, John Steven Fletcher; grandson, Jacob D. Fletcher; sisters, Joyce Griffin and Betty Renshaw; his companion, Martha (Marty) Bickford; a brother-in-law, Bill Gaylor; and nieces and nephews. John was a life-long resident of Alexandria, a Korean War veteran, an optician by trade, and an avid golfer. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 8, 2012, at 11 AM, at St. John’s United Methodist Church, Springfield, VA.
