John Vincent Foltz Jr.

John was born in the town of Middletown, PA to John and Elvira Foltz on November 3, 1939. He attended school in Middletown and had fond memories of playing football for the Middletown Blue Raiders in high school. He then attended Gettysburg College where he received his undergraduate degree. He then attended Penn State University where he received his PhD. In physics/optics. On May 1973 he married Helen Elizabeth Clark at the University of Pittsburgh and the Heinz Memorial Chapel. He then went on to work as a physicist for the United States Navy at the Naval Surface Warfare Center for over 28 years. He was very active in his community, especially at the Temple Hills Swim Club, where you could always find him walking laps every summer night.

John was preceded in death by his parents, John Vincent Foltz Sr. and Elvira Martha Foltz; John is survived by his wife of 52 years, Helen; His children Jeffrey Foltz and his wife Cynthia of Alexandria, VA and Karen Murphy and her husband Shawn of Catonsville, MD; His grandchildren Vincent Foltz and Avery Foltz; And his cousin Susan Peters of Hershey, PA.
