John Neal Latta of Alexandria, VA passed away on January 2, 2025 after a long illness. He was born on April 11, 1944 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Oris Latta and Edna (Hanna) Latta. He was married to Karen (Jamison) Latta for 58 years.
He graduated from Brigham Young University in 1966 and pursued his doctoral degree at the University of Kansas graduating in 1970.
John loved travel and visited over 200 countries. He also loved flying and got his pilot’s license in 2008.
He is survived by his wife, 3 sons (John “Neal”, Mark Roy and Gary Scott) 1 daughter-in-law married to Neal (Sandra Ann Lutkenhouse) and 4 grandchildren (Emily Ann, Jake Dylan, Parker Jamison and Robert Michael) and a sister, Linda Kay Grandov of California.
There is no funeral service and burial will be in Iowa.
