I sure do remember John we were good friends and put a lot hours at Woodlawn fields.

John, Thank you for your friendship, memories at Woodlawn. I loved coaching with you over the years, and playing for you many years ago. Thank you for your service to our country, and making so many kids days at Woodlawn even more special with your presence. My Son Ryan and daughter Katelyn really loved being with you, with Katie calling you Papou... Thank you for the wonderful memories up in Williamsport, and the great Pin trading you introduced to Ryan and I. Ida, what a lady.. thank you for your love of baseball, and sharing John with us all. I just found this news when I was looking for contact info at Woodlawn Little League to inform them that my father, Bob Grayson has passed away.  I remember "Mr. Reep" well.  He was a very nice man, one of the best.  I appreciate all the time he shared with me as a boy at the ball park.  So sad to find this out today.  I know my father really admired him as well.

It was always nice to see Mr. Reep coming with his box of toys for the kids.  He shared interesting stories of his days in the military and the origins of the baseball fields.  His love of community and humanity was always evident.   -The Savages (Alexandria, VA)

My two sons will miss Mr. Reep, aka "Mr. Woodlawn" or "the Toy Man", who always had a kind word and baseball cards for them. And my husband and I will miss seeing him at the games and hearing about his service to our country and his immeasurable contributions to Woodlawn Little League.

It was so nice meeting you Mr. Reep... I enjoyed the stories you always had for us and Randy will miss the you cars you used to give him from the wagon... Watch us from above.. We will meet again

I will always remember John, his smile and stories and wonderful sense of humor-- an awesome man who treated me like family, we all looked up to you.  Wishing strength and peace to Ida, Jaime & Katy, Mike, Pat & family.

It was an honor and privilege to have known John. I fondly remember all the years coaching with him at Woodlawn and having Ida in the score keepers box. He was a kind man who was always there for others and always had a story to tell. I will cherish those memories forever.  May his family find peace during this difficult time.

Mr Reep you will be missed on Keeler St passing out toys to the children. I know the shops you visited will miss you buying the toys. Delores and Teddy Hensley.

Mr. Reep, Thank you for your service and your dedication to our country.  We have had many discussions on our stories while in the military thou years apart.  This weekend we honored you at our Memorial Day Bash Travel Baseball Tournament at Woodlawn Little League and have officially changed the name to the John W. Reep Memorial Day Invitational. Thank you again and you will never be forgotten.

I have so many fond memories of Mr. Reep. He was such a positive force and role model to so many. Our families have all been so blessed to have known him through Woodlawn Little League. He was one of a kind.

I am saddened to hear of John's passing. I knew him as a gentleman who truly loved baseball and specifically Woodlawn Little League. I know he touched many lives very positively and I am happy to have known him. Our loss is heaven's gain and I know heaven has beautiful baseball fields. Bless you, John.

A wonderfully nice man to grow up across the street from.  I will never forget the times he gave me a ride to my job while I was in high school on his way to work in the afternoon.  I never, ever remember him without a smile on his face and always kind words were spoken by him.  We will miss you Mr. Reep and look forward to joining you in heaven someday.  
My heart goes out to you Mrs. Reep, Mike, Jamie and Pat.  I know how proud you must be of him.....Thanks you for sharing him with me during my first 21 years of life.  I am so sorry I cannot come and honor Mr. Reep in person as I will be out of town on Wednesday and Thursday.....God Bless you all!!!

We have lost a wonderful neighbor and friend in Mr. Reep. We have many fond memories of his goodness to our family over the years. The grandchildren enjoyed picking toys from his collection!!! And of course all the baseball pointers for our little leaguer, Matthew, with a south paw!! And the back field of our house,  Meredith remembers the treehouse. John will be greatly missed.

Mr. Reep and I bonded over our shared service history in the 82nd Airborne Division even though separated by decades.  I treasured the many walks he led me on through the Alexandria National Cemetery to point out the grave stones of other men from the 82nd Airborne Division that jumped into the Battle of the Bulge and others.  All The Way!

The biggest little league fan I know...making the final home run!  Much love and respect.

In our first season at Woodlawn last fall (2013) after moving here from Texas, our son was the ther recipient of some baseball cards from Mr. Reep and he gave our youngest daughters stuffed animals. We had no idea who this kind man was but knew he obviously loved baseball and children. Seeing him at the fields touched our hearts and without knowing we were new, he welcomed us to the community. John and Ida are the first people we think of when we pass by the Woodlawn baseball fields. God Bless you John. All our love and prayers.

Mr. Reep.........Thanks for being there when our country needed someone to protect the freedoms we now take for granted.  You and Ida were always someone we could immediately feel comfortable with when we chatted at the ballfields.  We'll always remember that.  Rest in peace, with our prayers for you and your entire family.

Farewell to "The Toy Man" who brightened the lives of countless Woodlawn Little League players for many years. Airborne!

My children were always happy to see him at Woodlawn.  What a kind, caring man who so loved baseball and kids.  We will miss you, Mr. Reep!

Mr Reep gave me a First basemans mit in 1981.  He told me the glove was from Japan.  I still have it.  His name is on the glove.  He was a wonderful man.  My Family and many others loved him very much.

Mr Woodlawn. You will forever be missed. Not only did you fight for my grandparents and parent's freedom, you also brought smiles to many boys and girl's faces. From stuffed animals to race cars and even baseball cards. Something I'll never forget. Forever in our hearts.

Mr Reep we will miss seeing you on Keeler Street passing out the toys to the children in our family.Always saw you out and about before you fell ill we will all miss you.
