We were so lucky to have Josie as a member of our NASA family. I met her when I started working at NASA in 1983; she was kind, sophisticated, and professional. Josie you will be greatly missed by your friends and family. Rest in Peace

My deepest condolences to Josie's family. It was a real pleasure to work with Josie at NASA Hqs. Rarely does one meet someone with the patience and institutional knowledge that Josie had. She was a blessing and saved me more than once with her guidance and support. She was my go-to person over several matters we dealt with and she could not have been more helpful. And I know there are many NASA employees she helped guide over the years and through the administrative maze. I loved how she always looked like she walked out of Nieman Marcus every day. How did she keep herself so together! I loved it. Josie was a very unforgettable person that came into my life and how grateful I am for that. I have only the fondest of memories and share your sorrow for this grand lady of NASA. RIP Josie.

Dear Charles, Sasha and family, My heart is deeply saddened to learn of Josie's passing. Friendships like ours survive the test of time. It began when I started at Headquarters years ago in 1965 when Pete Conrad & Gordon Cooper made their official Washington, D. C. appearance. We may not have kept in close touch, but our memories were always there to bring a smile. That was Josie's strong suit, she brought a beautiful, honest energy to her life.
There are so many memories when Josie, Marie, Alex and I; "The Regulars", would go out, always enjoying one another's company.
I pray that the empty place in your hearts today will be filled with all the good and happy memories that made Josie someone we all loved; especially you two.
With all my love and sympathy, Karen

My heart goes out to Charles, Sasha, family members and friend John Stumpf. Like all the testimonies written here, I met Josie when she came to NASA HQ and the Newsroom Team including Bill O'Donnell, Walt Pennino and many other outstanding, dedicated, professional civil servants. I worked with Josie during my own 42 years at HQ, and she was my hero. Always calm, smiling, helpful, classy and beautiful! Could there have been a more stressful career than keeping the institutional knowledge required to open the eyes of non-government political appointees, special committees, and me!! Yes, my hero....she will always be in my heart and mind. Others have led and now she follows to a peaceful place.

I haven't kept in touch with Josie since my retirement but she was always a great friend and taught me a lot about the ins and outside of NASA. She was a rare gem. And will be missed by all that knew her.
