Kenneth Clark Barnes passed away on August 12, 2013, at the age of 91, two days shy of his 92nd birthday, with his daughter at his side, at INOVA Alexandria Hospital in Alexandria, Virginia. He was born on August 15, 1921, in Wilson, North Carolina and was residing at the Goodwin House in Falls Church, Virginia.
He received his AA from Brevard College in 1940 and received his BA from George Washington University. He was a World War II Veteran in the Army and enjoyed a long career with the Department of the Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Margie Barnes; his grandson, Kevin Marshall Heflin; and sisters Ann Adkins and Mary Sallie Barnes. He is survived by his daughter Nancy D. Barnes, grandson Kenneth Charles Heflin both of Bryantown, Maryland, brother Ernest Gray Barnes of Silver Spring, Maryland and sister Joretta L. Deans of Florida.

All funeral services will be private.
