

Laila Atalla Hanna, beloved mother and grandmother departed to the Heavenly Glory on October 2, 2025. She dedicated her life to serving others and was an active member of the Coptic Orthodox Church community in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
She worked as a clerk at the Pennsylvania Utility Commission. She loved to bake, sew, paint and make crafts. Her greatest joy was her family, especially her nine grandchildren. Her generosity and kindness was felt by anyone that came into contact with her.
She is survived by her daughters Hala Bizzarro, Taghrid Barron, and Judy Smith and their spouses; grandchildren Alex, Kristine, Kathrin, and Selia Bizzarro; Liam and Robert Barron and spouse; and Noah, Verena, and Demiana Smith.
The family will accept condolences on Sunday, October 5, from 3 to 5 PM, at Demaine Funeral Home 520 S. Washington, St., Alexandria, VA 22314.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, October 6, at 12:00 PM, at St. Timothy and St. Athanasius Church, 2640 Shirlington Road, Arlington, VA, 22206, with a light lunch reception to follow in the church foyer.
The burial will be held Tuesday, October 7, at 2 PM at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, 4855 Londonderry Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109.
In lieu of sending flowers, the family asks that a memorial donation be made to St. Timothy and St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church of Arlington, VA, the beloved church of Laila.
May her memory be eternal, and may her soul find rest in the peace of Christ. May the Lord repose her soul in the Paradise of Joy.
