Lee was one of the most influential people in my military career. Besides our professional relationship, we became good friends.  Prior to his passing, I visited him a number at times at The Fairfax.  Over numerous lunches, we shared a lot of memories from when I was at the Pentagon, some very humorous and some very serious.  He was a great man, a good friend, and extremely humble for a person of his stature.  I am but one of a number of people who owe him so much for guiding us in our early professional careers.  Thank you, Lee, and rest peacefully.

I just found out about Lee's passing.  I can't think of anyone else in my professional life that I have more respect for.  He was a great mentor when I arrived at the Pentagon in the early 1980's and remained a friend.  I was fortunate to have had the opportunity to have lunch with Lee on a number of occasions before COVID hit.  So sorry that I hadn't seen him more often.  Rest in peace, my friend.
