Lucy Jane Normand

Lucy J. Normand, 81, earned her angel wings at home on Christmas Day, her favorite holiday, surrounded by her family as they were singing her favorite carols. Lucy is survived by Robert, her loving husband of 61 years; her 4 children, Linda Hahl (John) of Springfield, VA; Laura Tyler (Kevin) of Winston-Salem, NC; Paul Normand (Sandra) of Keller, TX; and Lisa Normand-Meyer (Hal) of Edgewood, NM. Her sister Elizabeth Gill Bailey (Fred) Millville, NJ. She is also survived by10 loving grandchildren, whom she adored, and her beloved dog, Holly, who stayed by her side until the end. Her greatest joys were the beach, traveling in her RV, and a good frosted cookie. Lucy will be greatly missed by her family, but it is a blessing to know she is free of pain and with God. Friends will be received at Demaine's Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA, on Tuesday, December 29, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. There will be a celebration of her life at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mount Vernon Highway, Alexandria, VA, on Wednesday, December 30, at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Good Shepherd Housing and Family Services.
