

Madge Davidson Stone (11/27/1912 - 4/21/2011) passed away at Mount Vernon Hospital. Most recently, she was a long-time resident of The Fairfax at Fort Belvoir, and had previously resided in Alexandria, VA and New York City, NY.
Mrs. Stone attended Columbia University and received her Master's Degree in Economics and French, and her PhD in Psychology. Her career as the Office Manager of Patent Law offices in NYC and Washington, D.C. spanned several decades. She was an active member of Saint Bartholomew's Church in NYC, where she married Major Edward Stone in 1962, and of Christ Church in Alexandria, VA, where she was involved in the group Seniors Acting Very, Very Young (SAVVY). Mrs. Stone enjoyed several world cruises, spoke eight languages fluently, and taught French for many years.
A beloved wife, daughter, sister, and aunt, she is preceded in death by her brother, Bobby, her parents John and Elizabeth, her husband Edward, and her brother John. Her nieces Jane Davidson Greenler and Sara Davidson Higgins, and their children David Greenler and Atticus Higgins survive her.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by DeMaine Funeral Home in Alexandria, VA. Internment will be at Arlington National Cemetery.
