I am so very sorry to learn (belatedly) of Maureen's passing. I first met her when she was a young vibrant redhead working at Culpeper Gardens and tried to keep up with her over the years. She was sweet and kind.

To the Lokke Family. My condolences to you. I recently found out about Maureen’s passing.  She was my friend. I loved her. She was unique and innocently honest. I loved her for these special qualities. She would set me straight in a “hot minute.”  I’m sure Jehovah God has her in His memory. Especially when the time comes for the resurrection. Maureen had never physically met me before, as her nephew's wife, but still took the time to show me love. This is a picture of the afghan that she made herself for our firstborn daughter, Gianna. Growing up, my mother (who is deceased) made an afghan blanket for each of her children and grandchildren, so I found it very moving that she made this for our little girl. I was so touched that even though she didn't know me, she still considered me family and took the time to make this, even as sick as she was. She also sent cards in the mail to us on each of our birthdays and the holidays. 

She was a very special woman with a giving and loving heart. She will always be in our hearts and we are extremely grateful to have had her in our lives!

Isaiah 43: 1-3 says, "Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior."
Maureen is in good hands! God loves her and is with her now and forever!  Maureen suffered in life with poor health and disabilities. However, she was very kind, smiled a lot and showed much innocence and joy. Our mother Rita look very good care of her late into her life and is to be greatly honored. We also honer our father Bernie and we thank both of them for nurturing and caring for us and giving us a good life. Maureen, we will miss you and love you and are thankful for your life, our parents, and the great memories!  Brother Mark

As a friend of the family's, visiting Michele at her home, I remember Maureen well:  on days when the stove was warm and Maureen was so friendly and conversing with all questioning always, and saying what was on her mind. She was so caring and gentle and loved to smile and laugh with everyone!  
We all will miss your considerate and humorous ways. When I think of you, I think of how you included others, keeping things light and happy.

Maureen like our Mom LOVED holding the little babies  and there were plenty to hold and our Mother was an expert being that she had eight children and many grand children

Summertime was always a great memory especially when we were able to enjoy going to Ocean City Maryland for a few days at the townhouse with our Mother and she would celebrate Maureen's Birthday (Mom would cook up a great meal) it was always a fun time and lucky for Maureen that we would celebrate her "B" Day at the beach!  🐚🏄 I  just recently had a conversation with Maureen about those times and we both agreed how we loved the vacations there 🏊 

I was Energetic and a Handful, But I know you Enjoyed being with me as much as I did with you!

 Maureen seemed to be comfortable living in the nursing home the last few years of her life.

Rest In Peace, Maureen.  I will miss your great sense of humor and heartfelt laughter.  We enjoyed playing the trivia games with you!  I wish I could have been a better student of yours when you would try to teach me sign language.  At least I remember a few letters.  You knew it so well.  I will miss our conversations and will always hold fond memories of you in my heart.
