

Departed this life on March 19, 2013. He was born on January 23, 1924 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Miles proudly served as a navigator on active duty with the U.S.A.F. Strategic Air Command, retiring in 1973. A documented original Tuskegee Airman, he received honors in a career spanning the Korean Conflict and Vietnam War. Upon his military retirement he completed a second career as a compliance officer with federal agencies. He enjoyed golfing, singing in his church choir and the camaraderie of his whist club.
Miles is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Cozette Washington; a son Miles III (Karla); a daughter Marion L. Scott, and a granddaughter, Kamilah A. Scott.
Visitation will take place at 2 to 4 p.m. with a Service of Remembrance to follow at 5 p.m. on Thursday April 4, 2013 at Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington St., Alexandria, VA. Funeral Services with Full Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 at 11:00am at Ft. Myer Memorial Chapel with interment at Arlington National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
