Nancy Gray

NANCY HAAS GRAY (Age 83) Nancy Haas Gray passed away on riday, November 9, 2012, after a long illness. She died at Emeritus at Lake Ridge where she had been residing for the past several months. Her loving husband Alan and devoted daughter Jennifer were at her side during her final days. Nancy Gray was born in Philadelphia to Roger and Helen Haas, and grew up in Fair Lawn NJ, where she attended school through graduation at Fair Lawn High. During that time, she met her husband Alan, becoming finally engaged while at college at Westchester University. Nancy Haas Gray studied education, and became a teacher on Long Island (Hewlett) for several years. She married Alan Gray in 1952, and the couple began their life's journey in River Edge NJ. In the ensuing years, Nancy Gray built a home and family in Cincinnati and Alexandria. She became President of the Belle Haven Women's Club while raising two daughters, Jennifer and Patricia. Until recently, she remained active in Community Projects for Belle Haven and surrounding areas. More recently, she has devoted her time to family, and is survived by her daughter Jennifer, along with Jennifer's husband Michael Jones, and two grandchildren, Amanda and Andy. She was the quintessential grandma, known affectionately as "Beema", never failing to bring her wisdom to their upbringing. Nancy and her loving husband of 60 years have lived in Belle Haven for almost 50 years. She will be sorely missed by her devoted family and community. A memorial service will be held at the Presbyterian Meeting House in Alexandria, on Thursday, November 15, at 11 a.m. On Friday, November 16, Nancy Gray will be privately interred along side her daughter Patricia, at Ivy Hill Cemetery. Nancy may be remembered through donations to the Alzeimers Association.
