I was Odette's hired companion for her dog Minnie.Over the last 4 1/2 years of Minnie and Odette's lives,I became a friend,and almost a son to her.She told me so many stories of this amazing life,and all these incredible people that she had met along the way.
   I had the pleasure of taking her,and Minnie,on drives to the Chesapeake Bay,and around the Washington,DC area.I would surprise her occasionally with her favorite treat, McDonald's French fries,with extra salt,and pizza from local parlors.
    She did have quite a fiery tongue,and we would battle like a too long married couple,but she also had a very gentle loving side.Her love of her dogs was amazing,and her great sense of humor included learning and singing the theme song to The Big Bang Theory.
   Thanks to communication from Mary and Barry Bauer's,I was able to be by her side as she passed.I had at that moment lost a timeless friend.
   Give Minnie a hug from me.Ill see you one day again.

Dear family of Odette(Mary and Barry Bowers)...thank you for enabling me to meet Odette and Mini.Its thru your friendship that I had the opportunity to get to know her. I was so touched by her courage in escaping Katrina with Mini.You were the best family ever to her and Minni. They enriched all of our lives.RIP Odette and Minni with the angels. <3

For many years Odette was a client, but most importantly a friend and a delight. Her laughter and sharp tongue towards most that annoyed her legendary.  Odette will always be on the top of my favorite people list. Goodbye, dear Odette.  You will be missed.

Rest in peace, Odette. Thank you so much for all you did for the animals of Louisiana.

I bet you're glad to be with your dear angels and minnie!

May God give the family the comfort strengthen in this time of grief.
