Patricia Jane Judd, age 90, life-long resident of Alexandria, Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of her devoted family. A beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished family matriarch, Pat leaves behind a lifetime of treasured memories, enduring friendships, and a legacy of love that will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Born on March 14, 1936, in Alexandria, Virginia, Pat was the daughter of the late Mildred Lee (née Tucker) and John Clements McRae. She grew up in Alexandria, where she attended George Washington High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. It was there that she met the love of her life, Alfred Benjamin Judd. Their young romance blossomed into a lifelong partnership, and shortly after graduation, they married and began building a life together centered on family, faith, and shared dreams.
Pat remained deeply connected to her high school community throughout her life, maintaining her involvement in alumni groups and enjoying the fellowship of her beloved book club. These lasting connections reflected her appreciation for friendship, shared experiences, and the special bonds that endure through the years.
Her Christian faith was an important foundation in her life. As a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Pat found comfort, strength, and fellowship in her faith, which remained a guiding presence throughout her many years.
Together with her husband, Pat co-owned and operated Judd Electric for more than 20 years, proudly serving the Alexandria community. Their business was more than a livelihood; it was a reflection of their commitment, hard work, and dedication to the community they called home.
Beyond her family and business, Pat found joy in life's simple and beautiful pleasures. They spent much of their time in Ocean City, Maryland. Together they would explore all that area has to offer and their grandchildren would frequently visit. They would enjoy time at the beach and amusement parks with the grandchildren. She loved gardening, tending to the beauty of nature, and searching for antiques with her husband. Their shared treasure hunts brought the excitement of discovery and the joy of finding something special. These cherished pastimes became part of the many memories that defined their life together.
After her husband’s death, Pat was grief stricken and often spent time at the beach. Eventually, she started spending more time with her high school community. She would often see her brother’s childhood friend, Pete Ginn. They had much in common including their love of the beach. After several years, their friendship blossomed into a long-term loving relationship.
Above all, Pat treasured her family. She was a loving mother whose care and devotion helped shape the lives of her children, and a proud grandmother and great-grandmother whose family was a source of immeasurable joy. Her presence, wisdom, and love enriched the lives of generations, creating a family legacy that will continue to flourish long after her passing.
In addition to her parents, Pat was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alfred Benjamin Judd, and her brother, Gerald Bracey McRae.
She leaves behind her loving children, Katherine (Jeff) Butchko, Glenn (Denae) Judd, and Brian (Cathy) Judd; her cherished grandchildren, John (Maria) Butchko, Michael Butchko, Michelle (Matt) Ponzurick, Benjamin Judd, Tyler Holloway, Kelley (Matt) McLamb, Jonathan Kopp, Garrett Taylor, Kevin (Abby) Taylor, Nicole Judd, Jordan Judd, Cameron Judd, and Brooke Judd; and great-grandchildren Alice and Penelope Kennedy; along with extended family members, and many dear friends who will forever hold her memory close to their hearts.
Though Pat's life on earth has come to a close, the love she gave, the faith she carried, and the memories she created will remain a lasting gift to those she leaves behind. Her life was a testament to the enduring power of family, the beauty of lifelong love, and the importance of cherishing the people and moments that make life meaningful.
She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever treasured.
