Sheila Doyle Jurinski, aged 87, passed away peacefully on June 25, 2026, in Alexandria, Virginia. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Neil Jurinski, son Joseph Jurinski and his wife Wendy of Burke, VA, son Michael Jurinski and his wife Patricia of Tampa, FL, daughter Kathrine Luzuis and her husband James of Arlington, VA, as well as her four grandchildren Timothy and Liam Jurinski and Zachary and Shannon Luzius.
Born on July 6, 1938, in Hempstead, NY, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Isabelle Doyle. Sheila graduated from The State University of NY at Albany and subsequently earned a Master’s Degree from The University of Mississippi. She dedicated her life to education, retiring in 2005 after a long career as a mathematics teacher, including over 25 years at Robinson High School in Fairfax, VA.
She loved to travel, and in their retirement years, Sheila and Neil enjoyed exploring the world via cruise ships. When she wasn't traveling, Sheila was an avid reader who could always be found with a book to occupy her down time. She also enjoyed playing bridge, with Neil as her regular partner.
Sheila’s greatest joy was her family. She was a proud mother and grandmother. Her legacy of love, curiosity, and kindness will live on through them.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Sheila’s honor to either Reading is Fundamental or the Mathematics Education Trust.
