Stella Pappas

Stella “Noula” Pappas of Alexandria, VA passed away April 26, 2018. She is preceded in death by her husband, James Pappas; parents, Kostas and Chrysanthi Katziaras; brother Panayiotis Katziaras and sister Eumorphia Katziaras. Noula is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stella and Steve Stroubakis; daughter and son-in-law Morphoula and Chris Daoulas; brother Pandelis Katziarias, as well as her grandchildren, Nastassia, Elaina, Dimitri, Markayla and Gabrielle. She was a member of Saint Sophia Greek Orthodox Church. Prior to emigrating from Greece to the United States in 1967, Noula worked as an RN in the operating room, and once stateside, began work as a seamstress and later factory worker in Lowell, Massachusetts. Above all else, Noula was an amazing homemaker, mother and wife. She devoted her life to her family and her faith. Noula was lovingly referred to as “Yiayia” by many who loved her. She will be deeply missed. The family would like to extend appreciation to her caregiver Melanie Feghali for the love and compassion she gave to Noula over the past several months.
