Susan Garet (Johnson) Markarian of Alexandria, VA fought a courageous battle with Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma-B cell cancer died on Thursday, January 17, 2013. She is survived by her sister Judith Markarian, brothers Bradley (Kathleen) Johnson and David Johnson, her niece Jennifer (Michael) Lyons and nephew Matthew Johnson. She is also survived by her great-nieces Ashley and Nicole DeRemer. Friends may call the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 S. Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314 where the family will be present on Wednesday, January 23rd from 4:00-8:00pm. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 24th at 11:00am at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church, 4125 Fessenden Street, NW, Washington, D.C. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the church or to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society www.lls.org/donate! The Hokehankisd is scheduled for March 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Armenian Apostolic Church with a celebration to follow in the church hall. All are invited.
