Terence Carl Baer

Terry, as he was known to most of his friends, was born in 1948, he spent his childhood years growing up in Chester, PA not far from Philly. Although Terry was "smarter than most" he was also a gifted athlete. His size was his "biggest asset" as he played and enjoyed football. Terry graduated from Georgetown University and shortly thereafter joined the Arlington County police Department. During his tenure there (1973-2005) his assignments were many and varied. He excelled at each new challenge within the department and both Terry and the citizens of Arlington County were better for his service. Upon his retirement from the police department, he continued his service to others. Terry made the most of his God given talent for languages. until his death he helped others learn English. Those of us that were lucky enough to cross paths during his lifetime must remember his big smile, great laugh, but most of all...we were honored to be his friend. Terry, you will be in our hearts and minds forever...till we meet again "Gentle Baer!"
