
Thomas Morton Constant, 89 of Alexandria, Va. died on February 6th 2015. “Tom” Constant, son of Victor and Ester Constant, loving husband to Clarine Aust Constant passed away quietly on February 6th, 2015 in the Green Valley, Arizona area of dementia and complications. He is survived by his son Stephen, 5 nieces, and 1 nephew. He was also pre-deceased by his brother Vic when they were both young. He grew up in Beijing China for the first 12 years of his life where Mandarin was his first language. Returning to the states, he followed his father’s lead and graduated West Point in 1946. Thus began his career as an Army officer serving in the Korean War, Tokyo, Taiwan, and Vietnam. before retiring as a Colonel in 1970. Tom and Clarine lived in Alexandria 40 years and always considered it home. He was always warm and wonderful, and loved volunteering at Mt. Vernon Hospital, counseling knee replacement patients, as he had both of his replaced. He loved eating Chinese food with family and friends. It was always a huge social event eating with Tom! He will be dearly missed and will be buried at Arlington National Cemetery where his wife Clarine who passed in 2009 is as well. A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at Ft. Myer Old Post Chapel at 11:00am, burial will follow with Full Military Honors at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Virginia.
