Walter Stern, 90, of Arlington, VA died peacefully Wednesday, December 26, 2012. He is survived by his beloved wife, Jutta Stern, his daughter, Sonja Clelland and her husband Eric Clelland; two grandchildren, Mark and Ethan Clelland. Walter Stern was a graduate of Cornell University and had a distinguished career in the Foreign Services for 30 years. During his retirement years, he enjoyed being with family and friends, traveling, hiking in Obersdorf and playing tennis. Walter’s love of life will be missed.
