Obituary of William Conrad Binzer

Col. William C. Binzer, D.D.S., M.S. William C. Binzer, 84, of Mason Neck Va. and Tampa/St Petersburg FL., passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017 with his family at his side. He was the son of Henry and Harriet Binzer of Chicago Illinois. He is survived by his five children, Gregory (Margie) Binzer, Dr. Ellen (Jim) Jenkins, Dr. Randy (Tennie) Binzer, Peggy Binzer, and William W. (Darlene) Binzer, 12 grandchildren, two great grand children, and his brother, Don Binzer (Maureen) and their five children. He was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 57 years, Lenore Rita Binzer. William went to Saint George High School in Chicago Ill., where he played the accordion in a band with Bob Mersch on the drums, and Dick Hansen on the guitar. He attended Loyola University, the Loyola University School of Dentistry, and St Louis University Orthodontic Residency Program. William served in the Air Force for 24 years and achieved the rank of Colonel, as a dentist and orthodontist. After retirement from the military he worked as an orthodontist in Oxon Hill MD, and Alexandria Virginia. He enjoyed golf, travel, photography, playing the accordion, and a good joke. He was blessed with many good friends wherever he went and cared for them deeply, but family always came first. William Binzer was the Patriarch of our family. He is loved, he will be missed, but never forgotten. Dr. Binzer’s family will receive friends at the Demaine Funeral Home, 520 South Washington St, Alexandria VA 22314, on Thursday October 12, 2017 from 5 to 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 8710 Mt. Vernon Highway, Alexandria, VA 22307 on Friday, October 13, at 10:30 am. Dr. Binzer will be buried next to his wife in Arlington National Cemetery in a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in William Binzer’s name to LoveTakesRoot.org to support the William and Lenore Binzer Dental Clinic at LaConcorde Orphanage in Jacmel Haiti.
