October 31, 1932 – January 24, 2013
Margaret Johnson, age 80 of Allendale, IL passed into Eternity on January 24, 2013, surrounded by her family at her home. Margaret was born October 31, 1932 in rural Clay County, IL. to Florence M. (Strange) and Clarence E. Zimmerman and they preceded her in death. She married Gene Johnson on August 27, 1955 in Mt. Carmel, IL and he also preceded her in death on October 1, 1985. Margaret worked for several years as secretary-treasurer for the Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17. She was a faithful member of the Allendale United Methodist Church and was past church treasurer for many years. She was active in the Wabash Valley Walk to Emmaus and Chrysalis. Margaret loved spending time with her family; especially enjoying her grandkids and great-grandkids.
Margaret leaves many memories to be cherished by her daughter, Regina and husband Rick Medler of Allendale, two sons: Jeffrey Johnson of rural St. Francisville, and William and wife Debra Johnson of Allendale. She will also be missed by her ten grandchildren: Nick ( Becky) Medler, Travis Johnson (best friend Allison), Josh (Krisie) Medler, Cole Johnson (best friend Jessica), Mark ( Ashley ) Medler, Jordan Johnson, Tanner Johnson, Cale Johnson, Hannah Johnson and Megan Johnson and her eight great-grandchildren: Ali, Levi, Josalyn, Isaiah, Abe, Keelie, Cooper and Hadley.
Funeral service for Margaret Johnson will be held at 1PM, Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at the Allendale United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in the Allendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the church from 11AM to service time at 1PM. Memorials may be made to the Allendale United Methodist Church or VNA/TIP Hospice, with envelopes provided at the church.
