Phoebe Elizabeth Jackman, 95 of Allendale, IL entered into Eternity Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Burgin Manor in Olney, IL.

Phoebe was born February 24, 1918 in Orio, IL. Her parents were Everett and Fern (Andrews) Jackman.

Phoebe worked at Thordason-Meisner in Mt. Carmel for over 40 years and was a member of the Machinist Union. She also worked for Golden Rule Insurance. She was a member of Wabash Presbyterian Church and taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of Farm Bureau and helped with the Orio chowder for many years. She was an accomplished seamstress and enjoyed baking.

She is survived by sisters; Anna Rose Riggs of Mt. Carmel, IL, Bonnie Jane Benton of Olney, IL, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, infant sister; Sarah Ella Jackman, and 2 sisters; Edna Mae Jackman and Lora Blanche Jackman, 1 brother; Charles Barnett Jackman,2 nieces; Sara Jane Benton, Diana L. Benton, sister-in-law; Pauline Jackman and 2 brothers-in-law; Walter Riggs and Robert Benton and special friend Marlin Burgener.

Funeral service will be at 3:00pm, Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio, IL. Burial will be in Wabash Presbyterian Church cemetery in Orio. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 24, 2013 from 2:00 – 3:00pm at Wabash Presbyterian Church in Orio, IL

Memorials may be made to Wabash Presbyterian Cemetery. Ingram Funeral Home of Allendale, IL entrusted with arrangements. Online condolences may be left at www.ingramfh.net.

Keeping all the family and friends in my prayers.Phoebe will be greatly missed.Phoebe and Lora were an inspiration to so many,letting us know life is what you make it..love and miss both these lovely ladies. Here's to sitting on the front porch in Heaven together.....love it. Cindy Carneal

Thanks to Jane for calling me and telling me about Phoebe's passing. Kind of chuckled when you asked if I could braid hair. I have none of my mother's talent in that area.

My thoughts and prayers are with the remaining family members. Phoebe and her sister Lora sold aluminum cans and donated the money for the lawn seat that sits in the entrance of the Allendale School. It was always nice to visit with them.
