Lane was born on January 4, 1932 in Horsepen, Virginia to Howard and Sally Folden. He joined the Marine Corp at 17. He was deployed to Korea and served gallantly with the First Marine Division. While in Korea he was wounded in the Battle of Chosin Reservoir, and for that he received a Purple Heart. He carried the things he saw and experienced in that war his entire life with strength and dignity.
After returning from the war he married Judith Tabor on January 31, 1953. He soon became ill with a fatal lung condition from which he tells a miraculous story of God healing him. It was because of this miracle in his life he became a Christian. He and Judy raised their two daughters, Lisa and Teresa, in Homestead, Florida. Those were happy times for him with family, being an active member of Princeton Church of the Nazarene, and a job he loved and excelled in. He worked in Civil Service at Homestead Air Force Base until retiring with over 30 years of service.
After Homestead, he and Judy moved to Spring Hill, FL, but after several years his Alzheimer’s disease was progressing and they moved to Orlando. Eventually moving to an Assisted Living facility where he could get the care and attention he needed.
He is survived by his two daughters Lisa (David) Outlaw and Teresa (Norman) Buckley; Four grandchildren
that he adored, Christopher (Tiffiny) Outlaw, Amanda (Mykel) deVega, Hillary (Daniel) Moody, and Lawrence Buckley; and five great grandchildren, Cameron, Colby, Kai, Maya, and Anderson; and his sister Mary (Jim) Dephillps.
