He was born in Alliance, Ohio on August 16, 1943. Albert graduated from Mount Vernon Academy and received a BS in Administration from Columbia Union College.
He was married to Keila Wyand on August 20, 1972.
Albert owned and ran a management company for Assisted Living Facilities with his wife, Keila, for 22 years.
Previously, he was the Chief Operating Officer for Hialeah Hospital, worked in French speaking countries for a Texan oil company and loved to tell stories of when he was a milkman in Maryland in the mid 60’s.
Albert was drafted during the Vietnam War. Due to his Seventh-Day Adventist faith, he chose not to bare arms and instead trained to be a combat medic. Days before his deployment, his orders were changed to participate in Operation Whitecoat in Ft. Dietrich, Maryland and received the National Defense Service Medal.
He had a passion for activities where he was able to use his hands such as woodworking, painting, construction and farming.
He was survived by his wife of 45 years, Keila Wyand; his son and daughter-in-law Erik and Stephanie Wyand; his daughter and daughter-in-law Tatiana Wyand and Devon Kuntz; his grandchildren Kyle and Lindsey Wyand; his sister and brother-in-law Margie and Bob Watern and his sister Laura Kulow.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm, Friday, April 27, at Spring Meadows SDA Church.
A military burial ceremony will be held at 2:00pm, Monday, April 30, at Cape Canaveral National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations to be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
