Alice Ann Orrange was born in Buffalo, New York on September 23, 1946 and passed away in Lake Mary, Florida on November 18, 2025 at the age of 79 years young. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Gardo, her sister Sharon Shaber Hiller Callery, and her nephew William Hiller. She is survived by her husband Tim Orrange, her children, Tim, Michelle, Greg and Jeff, and her grandchildren, Bobby, Wiley, Michael, Dylan, Maddox, Kaitlyn, and Ben.
Alice, a Buffalo native and proud Sicilian, lived a life filled with love, family and service. From her earliest stories of playing with her cousins and celebrating Christmas at her Grandfather’s house on Busty Ave in Buffalo, to the Sunday dinners hosted at her house with the smell of “sauce” wafting through the house, there was one common thread. That thread was family. Alice cared more about her family, whether you were born into it, married into it, or came into it through friendship, than she cared about anything else. She always provided a seat at her table or a bed to lay your head down for anyone, hungry or tired.
Alice modeled to her children, grandchildren and friends what dedication was. She was married to Tim for over 60 years and stood by him in the hard times as much as the good times. They supported each other and laid a foundation that created a tight-knit family.
Alice graduated from Lafayette High School in Buffalo, New York. She went on to become a LPN and worked multiple places, serving those from all walks of life. From nursing homes to methadone clinics to jails, Alice always led with empathy and kindness first. She would say that her time as a Corrections Officer at the Seminole County Jail was the the highlight of her working career. That is where she retired from after 15 years of service.
Alice’s service did not stop at retirement. Her and Tim proudly volunteered every Thursday night at Give Kids the World. Alice would play Mrs Claus next to Tim’s Santa Claus and she adored the children that would come through wide eyed and excited.
Until her death, Alice looked forward to watching the Bills play, surrounded by family and wearing her Josh Allen jersey. Sunday’s were a day of gathering for her, and you had better have come with an appetite, because she would always put out food.
It is hard to fit her life into a few paragraphs, however, if you are reading this, she has probably made an impact on your life one way or another. We will always miss Alice, her kind smile, her empathetic and giving nature and her love of her family. But, however much we may miss her, we know that we are all so much better having had her in our lives.
Go Bills!
