Allen Andrew Simmons passed away peacefully in Altamonte Springs, FL at his home at Brooksdale Assisted Living on July 16, 2024. Allen is survived by his wife of 65 years Carolyn Dobbins Simmons, Children, Carla S. McKee, Suzanne S. Schlitt, Kenneth Schlitt son-in-law, Austin A. McKee, Ashley M. Brewer, Maxwell L. Schlitt, and Caroline E. Schlitt grandchildren, and Tanner Brewer grandson-in-law. Allen Andrew Simmons was born in Winter Park, FL to Geneva and Jewel Simmons on January 14, 1934. His children remember him as a kind, gentle, loving father. Allen was a passionate Florida Gator fan. He was an individual who loved the outdoors and was very skilled in DIY projects. He was a Winter Park High School graduate and was often involved in the Winter Park Community. Allen Simmons will be laid to rest at Palm Cemetery in Winter Park, FL in a private ceremony on Thursday August 29th, 2024.
