Barbara Jeanne Prom

Barbara thoroughly enjoyed family, friends and was an avid sports fan. She grew up in Michigan with her 8 siblings and moved to Port Washington, WI at age 13. This is where she went to high school and ended up meeting her future husband of 55 years, James William Prom.

Barbara married James on February, 20 1960. Together they raised 5 boys, while residing in Saukville and Cedarburg, WI and then Altamonte Springs, FL. While raising their five children she also worked outside of the home in the Seminole County school system at Sabal Point Elementary. Years later she fulfilled a lifelong goal of earning a nursing degree, which enabled her to further satisfy a great passion of hers, serving others. Another great passion of hers is family who she devoted her entire life to.

Barbara is survived by her husband James Prom; sons, Jeffrey of Aurora, CO; Richard of Dallas, GA; Patrick of St. Augustine, FL; Corey of Lake Mary, FL; and Curtis of Gardner, KS; eight wonderful grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and close friends.

There will be a celebration of life service for all family members and friends at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home located at 90 Weathersfield Ave, Altamonte Springs, FL 32714. The service will be held on Saturday, 12/19 at 2pm, with an on-sight reception immediately following.
