C. Stuart O'Hara, Jr.

C. Stuart O'Hara, Jr., 96, of Longwood, Florida, died on September 21, 2026. Born to C. Stuart and Anna Baier O'Hara of Pittsburgh, PA, on December 11, 1929, he was the youngest and longest lived of five siblings. With the sponsorship of his uncle, a Carmelite priest, Stu attended high school at Mt Carmel College Seminary in Niagara Falls, Canada. He served in the Army during the Korean War, recalling that winter there was "the coldest he'd ever been." Returning home, he enrolled at the University of Pittsburgh and graduated with a degree in Accounting, and later earned his MBA from Boston College.

Stu began his career in finance at US Steel in Pittsburgh, and subsequent moves took him to Massachusetts, Illinois, and Florida while raising four loving daughters with his cherished wife, Frances, a teacher from New York who captured his eye when they were each vacationing on Cape Cod, and who predeceased him in 1996. He took up sailing in Massachusetts and the family enjoyed many adventurous weekends aboard the "Leprechaun."

Stu also embarked on a lifelong pursuit of the game of golf and was rewarded by the golf gods when he hit a hole-in-one during the weekend of his 70th birthday celebration. He particularly enjoyed wearing his collection of golf shirts reflecting the various colleges attended by his daughters and grandchildren. Whether he was wearing Pitt, Duke, Notre Dame, or any of several others, his blue Irish eyes always sparkled with pride. In retirement, Stu made several trips to Ireland for which he had an obvious familial affinity.

More than anything, Stu was known for his deep faith and commitment to his family. He was blessed to meet Barbara and they shared twenty-two happy years of marriage, devoted to each other. Their life together included church, travel, Friday pizza nights with family, and many delightful years with their beloved dog, Alfie. An original "girl Dad," Stu will be deeply missed by daughters Kathleen (Gary) Wieczorek of Pittsburgh, Carolyn (Dr. David C., Jr.) Molthrop and Susan O'Hara Wofford, both of Longwood, and Mary Beth (Glenn Davies) O'Hara of Lancaster, PA. He was the proud Grandpa of fourteen: Tom (Erica), Ellen, and John (Alison) Wieczorek, Elizabeth (Duncan) Wells, Charlie (Nathalia) Molthrop, Chris (Kathryn) Benson, and Kelly Molthrop, Tim (Elizabeth) Wofford, Caroline (Michael) Moffa, Bill, and Jack O'Hara, and Matthew (Rachel), Owen, and Grace Davies. And more recently, Stu was delighted to become great-grandfather to Quinn, Cole and Micah. Additional survivors include Barbara's dear sons, Christopher (Angie), Michael (Tonya), and Stephen Labiak, and her grandchildren Melissa, Lauren, and Devon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews, all fondly remembered.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 1, from 5:00-7:00pm at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 90 Weathersfield Avenue, Altamonte Springs, FL. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00am on Friday, October 2, at Annunciation Catholic Church, 1020 Montgomery Rd, Altamonte Springs, FL.
