Carol Ann Biggers

Life long educator Carol Ann (Loeper) Biggers; age 66 and a 30-year resident of Maitland, Florida passed away on Friday November 5, 2021. Born in Schuylkill Haven, PA, after attending local high school in 1972 Carol graduated from Penn State, later settling in Florida. Her son Barrett Biggers, daughter-in-law Emi Sakiyama and her brothers Bob Loeper, Jeff Warner, Dr. John Chris Warner and sister Patti Holl survive her.

Carol graduated from Pennsylvania State in 1976 with a Bachelors in Education. After marrying her now late husband George Clinton Biggers III in 1980 in Naples, Florida she began her lifelong teaching career in Central Florida.

Focusing mainly on biology, anatomy and life sciences, Carol’s teaching career taught children from middle school all the way to advanced placement in high school. Her longest teaching position was at Bishop Moore High School in Orlando, Florida for over 12 years. Carol’s passion extended beyond the classroom as she spent many hours helping students after school with lessons. Along with teaching others Carol was an avid learner who would also research science topics and read countless books.

During her teaching career she helped run her husband, George’s publishing companies. Carol would spend countless hours between family, school and business. After returning to the classroom full-time at Lake Mary Preparatory more recently she began assisting at the animal lab of the psychology department of Rollins College.

She was also known for her unconditional love of animals. She was always surrounded by her dogs, cats and sometimes a squirrel or chicken. She loved to treat them as part of the family. Her life long dream was to care for horses and for a short period of her life was able to own and ride her own horse, Zipper.

Carol was known for her strong independence, fun personality and fierce loyalty. She was the life of the party and loved to cook. She would even give muffins to her colleagues and neighbors as gifts for helping her.

Carol was cremated and will have a celebration of her life at the Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home in Altamonte Springs, FL ( 994 E Altamonte Dr, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701) on Saturday January 22, 2022 at 11 am. In lieu of flowers her family asks to please consider a donation to the Humane Society or local animal shelter to honor Carol’s love of animals.
