Carole Louise McBride
November 18, 1930 – May 15, 2020
Carole McBride, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully, May 15, 2020 at The Atria at Lake Forest, Sanford, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her husband, David M. McBride, her beloved mother, Annabelle Powers (Glazer), her father, Theodore Powers, and the brother she adored, James Powers.
Carole was born November 18, 1930 in Silver Creek, NY. She graduated from Woodlawn High School in Woodlawn, NY. In the late 50s, she moved to Columbus, Ohio to be near her beloved brother Jim. She worked as a claims examiner for Travelers Insurance. In 1980, Carole and Dave moved to Casselberry, Florida and started McBride Insurance Agency. She was a tireless advocate for her clients. After retiring from McBride Insurance Agency, Carole, in her 60s, fulfilled a life, long dream of becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse.
Carole had an extremely warm and loving heart. She spent much of her time volunteering for food drives at St. Augustine’s Church, delivering Meals on Wheels, and caring for elderly in the community who had little or no family. Carole loved to tap dance and was a member of the senior dance group, The Happy Hoofers. She was a die-hard Ohio State Buckeye Fan and loved watching the Orlando Magic. Carole also loved to play tennis. She enjoyed laughter (the sillier the better), playing the piano, and most of all a good round of Michigan rummy with her family and many aunts and cousins in Michigan.
She is survived by her 5 children: William Prusak, Anne Klauder (John), Michael Prusak (Carla), David McBride Jr. (Rebecca), Holly Taylor (John). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren who adored her and 6 great grandchildren.
A private mass is being held on May 22, 2020 at St. Augustine’s Parish. Burial to follow at All Faiths Cemetery in Casselberry, Florida.
