

Carolyn was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on November 26, 1935, to Wilbur I. and Katherine R. Edmundson. The family and their relatives were long time residents of central Pennsylvania. Carolyn graduated from Altoona High School in 1953. She worked for many years for Bell Telephone, both in Altoona and in Wilkinsburg.
It was in Altoona that she met her future husband Theodore Ladd Erion. They married on March 23, 1968. Carolyn and Ted lived in Pittsburgh, PA, Wappinger Falls, NY, Saint Paul, Minnesota, and 36 years in Winter Springs, Florida. She had a long and fruitful life, not only working for Bell Telephone but for Westinghouse Electric, Martin-Marietta, and Siemens Corporations. Carolyn was very active with many charities, including Lion’s Club, mental health care, Coalition for the Homeless, and families dealing with destructive cults. She and Ted were charter members of the University Carillon Methodist Church. Carolyn was loved by her family for her compassion, steadfastness, and wry sense of humor.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters. She was also preceded in death by her youngest son, Zane Ladd Erion. She is survived by Ted, her husband of 55 years, two daughters, Stacey and Sarah, and two sons, Jeff and Joel. There are ten grandchildren and eleven greatgrandchildren.
Internment is at Glen Haven Memorial Park next to her much-loved son, Zane.
