Clifford William Wright Sr.

Clifford William Wright, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and respected architect, passed away peacefully on August 22, 2026, at the age of 93. Born on April 15, 1933, Cliff was the son of Clifford Godfrey Wright and Helen Pearsall Wright.

He grew up in Winter Park, Florida, where he attended Winter Park High School. He went on to attend the University of Florida, earning his degree in architecture. During his years at the University of Florida, Cliff was a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity, where he formed many lifelong friendships that remained important to him throughout the years.

Cliff went on to build a distinguished career as an architect and eventually opened his own architectural firm, becoming a prominent and highly respected member of the Winter Park community. He later worked on other projects including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios. His creativity, dedication, and love of architecture left a lasting mark on the community and on the many people with whom he worked.

While his professional accomplishments were many, Cliff’s greatest pride was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Georgene (Uehle), with whom he shared 69 wonderful years of marriage, and their five children: Wendy Vasquez (Frank), Sarah Cioppa (Chuck), Susan Williams (Randy), Julie Wilkinson (Curt), and Clifford W. Wright Jr. (Julie). He was a devoted grandfather to his ten grandchildren: Michael Cioppa, Charlie Cioppa, Rae Lannister, Paige Howard, Morgan Royal, Cory Wilkinson, Kyle Wilkinson, Carly Malloy, Clifford (Will) W. Wright III, and Griffin Wright. He was also the proud great-grandfather to his ten great-grandchildren.

Cliff will be remembered as a loving husband and father and as a role model for what it meant to be a good man, husband, and father. He was steady, devoted, generous, and always deeply committed to the people he loved. His family was the center of his life, and the values he lived by will continue through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Outside of his work and family, Cliff enjoyed sailing, golfing, and collecting stamps. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life, the friendships he made along the way, and the time spent with the people he cared about.

Cliff leaves behind a legacy that reaches far beyond his professional accomplishments. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply, lifelong friends who cherished him, and generations who will carry his memory and the example he set forward. He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
