Crist was born December 22, 1927 to Pete and Helen Francisco in Orlando, FL. He attended Orlando High School and Graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, GA in 1949. There he met his cherished wife, Angela (Lucas) of 54 years. They were married in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Atlanta, GA in 1950, and settled in Orlando, FL, where they raised their three adored children – Pete, John and Elaine. Crist enjoyed a 37-year career working for Minute Maid and The Coca-Cola Company – his fierce loyalty never waned – absolutely no Pepsi products would enter his home.
Crist’s practical wisdom and guidance shone as a guiding light to all who knew him. He was the consummate gentleman, a loving husband, and a dedicated father and grandfather. His characteristic stubbornness, particularly on the golf course, was always surpassed by his beautiful heart and God-fearing soul. Crist was known for his fine character – a man of honor, wisdom, integrity, strength, generosity, faith and love. Crist took great pride in being a founding member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church of Greater Orlando; He was devoted to his church and relied on his faith for his foundation.
Crist is survived by his children, grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that loved him dearly, including, his son, John Francisco and his wife, Kathy, of Orlando, FL; and their son, John Francisco and his fiancée, Ashton Davis. His daughter, Elaine Carlos and her husband, John of Atlanta, GA; and their daughters Kari Dunn and her husband, John, and Angela Carlos. He is also survived by his eldest son Pete’s widow, Marta Francisco, and their son, Crist Luis Francisco.
Crist is predeceased by his beloved wife Angela, brother John, and son Pete, who no doubt made his journey to heaven one of sweet reunion.
While his absence on earth will leave an unfillable hole in our hearts, his righteous spirit, his unwavering practicality and his love for the St. Louis’ Cardinals and Florida Gators will not fade – may his memory be eternal.
