Danny was born in Morris, Illinois on October 29th, 1951, to Dwight and Margaret Carpenter.
At the age of 11, Danny and his family moved to Hollywood, FL. He developed a passion for the outdoors, spending much of his childhood riding bikes, fishing, and climbing trees. Many of the friendships he formed during that time became lifelong bonds that he maintained throughout his life.
Danny always worked well with his hands, a skill that would stay with him throughout his life. A master carpenter by trade, he was a true artist. He was exceptionally skilled in working with wood and was widely respected for his craftsmanship. His abilities extended well beyond carpentry as there were few trades he couldn’t handle, earning him a reputation as someone who could truly build or fix just about anything. He took pride in honest work done well.
Danny’s early adulthood was centered around riding his Harley with his buddies. Whether it was a weekend trip, Daytona Bike Week, Sturgis, North Dakota, or just an evening ride on the open South Florida roads, he was constantly on his motorcycle. It was during this time that he met his beloved wife, Ann Carpenter. The Harley was retired shortly after his lone son, Charles Carpenter, was born in 1996.
Danny cherished the time he spent boating and fishing with his wife and son. He always found a way to ensure everyone enjoyed their time on the water, even when coming home with an empty livewell.
Danny will be remembered most for being a supportive and loving husband and father. He was, at heart, the most polite and respectful man many knew. His familiar mustache was a hallmark of his appearance and often how people recognized him.
Danny was preceded in death by his parents, Dwight and Margaret Carpenter, and his brother, Richard Early. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Ann Carpenter; his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Sydney Carpenter; his sisters Jan Carpenter and Joanie Maley; and numerous nieces and nephews who considered their silly “Uncle Danny” one of their favorite uncles.
A Celebration of Life for Danny will be held at Baldwin-Fairchild Oviedo Funeral Home 501 E Mitchell Hammock Rd, Oviedo, FL 32765, on Saturday January 31st, 2026 at 11AM. A reception will follow at the same location.
