Dominick J. Salfi, age 86, a well-known citizen of Seminole County, passed away peacefully on March 29, 2024, at his home in Longwood, Florida. He is survived by his wife, Gayle, five children, eight grandchildren, two great grandchildren, two sisters and millions of friends. He loved his family, many of whom are still in Italy. He was a mentor to many and kind to all.
He is a graduate of University of Florida, 1958 and University of Florida Law School 1961. At the time of his death, he was an attorney and had been a former state Attorney and Circuit Court Judge. He was a member of the Seminole County and Florida Bar Associations. Formerly, he was an Associate Justice of the State Supreme Court, an Associate Judge in the 4th District Court of Appeals, Professor at the National Judges College and National Juvenile Judges College in Reno, Nevada, and Associate Professor at local colleges regarding family communications. He served on the Governor's Task Force against organized crime, was active in legislative changes and revisions of Florida Laws, was a strong child advocate and was a proponent of parental rights and responsibilities.
In 1986, he left the Bench and opened a law firm in Seminole County. Dominick never stopped his innovative methods of the delivery of legal services and many of his practices continue today.
A Celebration of Life for Dominick will be held on June 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Sanford Civic Center, 401 E Seminole Blvd., Sanford, FL 32771. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to one of these non-profit organizations in Dom's memory:
