

Dorothy Bloomingdale Bach, 80, of Longwood, passed away April 9, 2015. Dorothy was born to William and Dora Rohling of Saratoga Springs, NY on July 16, 1934. Dorothy grew up in Saratoga Springs, and attended Saratoga Springs High School and then went on to the Albany School of Business College. She was a life-time Lutheran. Dorothy married Ralph Bloomingdale, and they lived in Saratoga Springs, NY, San Francisco, CA, Winter Park, FL, and then settled in Longwood, FL. Mr. Bloomingdale passed away after 36 years of marriage. After several years as a widow Dorothy married Troy Bach. They had many happy years together traveling extensively. In later years she met Doug Forbes who became her special companion. Dorothy was a member of the Saratoga Springs Civic League, The Historical Society of Longwood, and was also a member of The Lions Club of Orlando for many years. She also was a volunteer at Leu Gardens in Winter Park. Dorothy enjoyed gardening, theater, interior decorating, travel and antiques. She also bought and remodeled houses in the area. Dorothy is survived by her two sons Kurt Bloomingdale of Georgia, and Jeff Bloomingdale of Florida, two daughters Christine Bloomingdale of California, and Ardeth Metzdorf of Virginia, grandchildren Jess, Nina, Chad, Candice, Michelle, Isiah, and Liam, as well as one great grandchild, Lucas; sister Mary Lou Achzet of New York and brother Kenny Rohling of New York. She was predeceased by brothers William and Robert Rohling. Services for Dorothy will be held Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at 11 AM with a Visitation from 10 AM - 11 AM prior at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 East Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, Florida 32701. Interment to follow at All Faiths Memorial Park, Casselberry, Florida following the service.
