

She was born on April 13, 1946, in Gaffney, South Carolina, and later made her home in Lake Panasoffkee, Florida.
Elaine graduated from Colonial High School and went on to attend Valencia Community College for two years. She was first married to Don Lewis, and later married Gary Durrance, with whom she shared many years of life and memories.
Elaine dedicated 32 years of service to Orange County Public Schools, where she worked as a secretary. Known for her dedication, kindness, and strong work ethic, she touched the lives of many students, teachers, and staff throughout her career.
She was an active member of the Lions Club and faithfully served on the Lions Hearing Board, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others and giving back to her community.
Elaine had a deep love for music and family. She also had a remarkable passion for genealogy, spending countless hours researching family history long before the internet made such work easier, helping preserve the stories and connections of generations past.
She was preceded in death by Darrell Lewis, Gary Durrance, Herschel Roscoe Kinsey and Marlee Theodore Peeler Kinsey.
She is survived by her daughter, Opal Sharpe, her son, George Allen Hill, along with other loving family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Visitation will be held at Baldwin Fairchild Funeral Home, 994 E Altamonte Drive, Altamonte Springs, FL 32701, on March 14, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on March 14, 2026, from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm.
A Graveside Service will take place at Glen Haven Memorial Park, 2300 Temple Dr, Winter Park, FL 32789, on March 14, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 4:00 pm.
