

Eugene (Gene) Raymond Vande Velde went home to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, Jesus Christ, on September 15, 2015, due to cancer. He was 80 years old. He was born in Rochester, New York on March 7, 1935 to Raymond and Dorothy Van de Velde. In 1957, he graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York with a degree in Manufacturing Engineering. In 1959 he married Theresa (Terry) Rolke of Yorktown Heights, New York. For 10 years, he was employed by General Dynamics in Rochester, New York. In 1967, he moved his family to Altamonte Springs, Florida. For 25 years, he worked at Martin Marietta, now Lockheed Martin, in Orlando, Florida. Since his retirement in 1992, Gene was very passionate about reading and writing what became Kindle reviews on Amazon.com about Biblically Reformed authors such as Charles Spurgeon, John Calvin, Martin Luther, etc. He was also very ardent and dogmatic about the six day creation account as recorded in Genesis. Gene leaves behind his wife Terry, of 56 years; son Stephen Eugene of Lawrenceville, Georgia; daughter Carol Lynn Saline, son-in-law Brook Saline and four grand children Jessica, Bethany, Caitlyn and Joel, of Lilburn, Georgia. In the 48 years Gene lived in Florida, he was a Deacon at First Presbyterian of Maitland, an Elder at Orangewood Presbyterian Church, Maitland, FL and presently a member Saint Andrew’s Chapel in Sanford, FL.
