Three wonderful memories I will always cherish and they all include Uncle Dave with his family: on return from Spain in early 60’s and we visited at Grandma and Grandpa Woolard’s and Alan was just a baby and could speak Spanish; in 1966 spending a week with Aunt Jo and boys at Shreveport and going on base and Uncle Dave stopping the car when Taps was played; 35 years later spending a very special and VERY fun Thanksgiving on the beach with the whole Davis clan. For me it’s hard to separate Uncle Dave from Aunt Jo. They were just such perfect complements to each other. Uncle Dave was always so calm and steady and kind, and like any young girl, I thought he was so handsome in uniform! I grieve his loss. I find a sense of peace in knowing he and Aunt Jo are together again at last -where they belong.
