I have nothing but fond memories of Floyd since my childhood. My mom ( Joan) and Aunt Alice were great friends and they were known to me as Uncle Floyd and Aunt Alice. After my mom and husband passed and then Aunt Alice we would talk on occasion, he was always a very kind and thoughtful man and I enjoyed our conversations and time visiting when I was a child. Mabel, Floyd and Keith I am so sorry for your loss, your dad was one of the best.

I will miss Newt, Dad as I always called him, as he was for so many years. I wondered why he did not return my call after Thanksgiving and when I talked to Floyd was sadden to hear why. He or I would call and talk three or four times a year to catch up since I had moved to Georgia. I always enjoyed just being with him when he needed a hand replacing a tank, working a service call, or just meeting for breakfast or lunch. He was a very special MAN, kind and gentle, full of stories I will always remember and cherish. He was a great role model for all my children, Jami, David, and Brandon and me and will always be Dad to me.

Mr Goodall was my landlord but more like a father to me and grandpa to my children. I am a Hispanic married woman and we have 8 kids and it was difficult to find anyone that would rent to us. Mr Goodall took a chance with us because he said he could relate to his family struggles with having a large family. We lived in his home for yrs and he was an amazing landlord but we loved him like family. Even after we moved out he would call me EVERY DAY and we would stay on the phone for about an hour each time. He would tell me old stories, stories about his wife and children and also about his struggles and success. He had a lot of faith in our family and encouraged me always. He also loved my children very much and would take them to lunch and NEVER forgot a birth date. He gave them advice and believed in them. He was very special to us and we loved him dearly, You are missed so very much!!
